Slapjack- LONGEST RESIDENT
Intake 4/11/26
Meet Slapjack!
Slapjack is a 3-year-old sweet and sensitive guy who is still learning to feel comfortable in the shelter environment. He can be shy and spends much of his time tucked away, but he does enjoy pets when he’s feeling comfortable. He’s simply a cat who needs a little time and patience to build trust and feel safe.
Because Slapjack can become overwhelmed in a busy environment, he would do best in a quieter home with kids 10+ who can give him the space and time he needs to settle in. Once he feels safe, we’re hopeful we’ll get to see more of his personality shine!
Slapjack is front declawed and also has “puffy pad disease,” an immune-mediated condition that causes swollen and sometimes painful paw pads. The condition often responds well to long-term treatment with steroids and antibiotics, but he’ll need an adopter committed to keeping up with his care and helping him stay comfortable.
We’re still learning how Slapjack feels about other cats and dogs, but we’d be happy to check for interested adopters! We’d really love to see Slapjack get the chance to leave the shelter and relax in a home of his own. We only have a couple of photos right now because he tends to stay hidden, but we know there’s so much more to this handsome guy than what he’s been able to show us here. With the right person, some patience, and a quiet place to call home, we think Slapjack could really blossom. 🐾
Slapjack is neutered, FELV/FIV negative, microchipped, and ready to meet someone who understands that the shyest cats can sometimes have the biggest hearts. ❤️
