Meet Cora 💜

Cora is a 5-year-old sweetheart who is looking for a patient, quiet home where she can finally relax and be herself. Shelter life has been overwhelming for this shy girl, so you'll often find her tucked away in a cozy hiding spot. But once you spend a little time with her, you'll discover she absolutely loves gentle attention and affection.

Her previous owner shared that Cora has always been a bit of a hider, and we think she'd thrive in a calm home—especially with an older adult or someone who understands that trust takes time. She isn't the kind of cat who will demand the spotlight, but she'll reward your patience with her sweet, loving personality.

Cora has a Grade III heart murmur. Many cats with heart murmurs go on to live happy, normal lives, though they can sometimes be associated with a heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The only way to determine the cause is through a cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram) performed by a veterinary cardiologist. Her adopter should simply be aware of her condition and monitor for any signs of breathing difficulties or sudden weakness or pain in her back legs, seeking veterinary care if they occur.

We have not yet tested Cora with other cats or dogs, so any introductions should be done carefully.
