Adoptable Barn Cats

Pinky
Meet Pinky 🐾
Pinky is a very shy girl who prefers the quiet life. While she’ll allow gentle pets and even purr for you, she isn’t comfortable being picked up and tends to keep to herself. Most of her days are spent tucked safely on her favorite shelf or hidden in her blankets, where she feels most secure.
Because of her timid nature, Pinky is looking for a barn or working cat home where she can live more independently and at her own pace. Cats in barn programs often prefer outdoor environments like barns, workshops, or quiet properties, where they can thrive while helping with natural rodent control .
She absolutely loves her wet food and will happily come out for mealtime, but overall, she’s not a cat who’s looking to be a traditional indoor pet. Instead, she’s looking for someone who understands that giving her space is giving her love.
If Pinky begins to open up more over time, we’ll gladly reevaluate her placement—but right now, she’s happiest keeping her distance and would do best as a spoiled outdoor kitty with a safe place to call home 💕

Meryl
Meet Meryl!
Meryl is part of our Barn Buddies program, meaning she’s looking for a working home where she can live life on her own terms. Barn Buddies are independent cats who prefer outdoor environments like barns, warehouses, or workshops, where they can help with natural rodent control while enjoying their space.

Stella
Meet Stella!
Stella is part of our Barn Buddies program, which means she’s looking for a calm, working home where she can thrive away from the hustle and bustle of a shelter. While she’s not very friendly with most people at the shelter, she has started to warm up to one of our staff members, and we think her true personality might be a little softer in the right environment.
Stella loves her wet food and can often be found lounging comfortably in her bed. She’s best suited to a barn, warehouse, or quiet outdoor space where she can live life on her own terms and feel safe and secure. Learn More About Barn Buddies: https://www.greaterhillsdalehumanesociety.org/barn-cats
