Meet Waylon 🐾

Waylon is one of our long-term residents, and we’re really hoping his perfect person is out there ready to give him the chance he deserves.

This sweet boy has a lot of energy when you first meet him and would thrive with an active adopter—he’d make a great hiking or running buddy for someone who enjoys getting outdoors (in quieter areas without other dogs around). Once he settles in, his affectionate, loyal side really shines through.

Waylon is very treat-motivated, which makes working with him fun and rewarding, and he’s been making great progress—especially with his leash skills! He also keeps his kennel nice and clean, which is always a great sign for home life.

He’s looking for a home with older kids (10+) or adults only, mainly due to his energy level. Waylon will need to be the only pet in the home, as he does not get along with other dogs and is reactive on leash when he sees them. Cats are also a no-go for this guy.

Waylon can be nervous in certain situations—especially at the vet, where he does require sedation—and he’s currently on fluoxetine to help manage his anxiety. With a patient, understanding home and continued structure, he has so much potential to keep growing and thriving.

At his core, Waylon is a really sweet, loving dog who just needs the right environment to feel safe and understood. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy and are willing to work with his needs, Waylon might just be your guy 💙
