Meet Rita!

Rita was used for backyard breeding in her previous life - after 9 litters in 10 years, she's ready to leave that life behind and live out the rest of her years in a furever home.

Rita loves to roll around in the grass and get belly rubs from anyone that will give them to her. She is a very sweet and laid back girl and she gets along with other dogs. We think she'd probably do fine in a home with cats, as long as the cats are also laid back and just want to coexist. We think she'd do great with kids of all ages.

Because she's a husky, Rita will need to be groomed. She does NOT like taking baths here at the shelter, and she's terrified of the blow dryer. We assume she was never groomed before coming here, so if using a professional groomer she will need one who has experience with scared huskies.

Rita is very talkative and will howl at you when you walk past her kennel. She's learning how to play with toys, and she's learning basic commands and leash walking. She'll be a wonderful dog for any family!

Rita is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all of her vaccinations, and tested negative for heartworm.
